Cricket Blast

At Wakehurst Redbacks, we generally recommend:

  • Rookie and Progressive girls and boys who are 5-6 years old and learning the basics of cricket.
  • Transition for girls and boys who are 7-8 years old and already have basic cricket skills.

9 year olds and older typically play in Junior girls or boys.

Refer to our Cricket Blast page for more information.  Feel free to contact our Cricket Blast Coordinator with any questions, at blasters@wakehurstredbacks.com.au.

Registration via PlayHQ

All players will register via the PlayHQ platform. Not sure which age group to register under? Click here to see the age groupings.

You may use an existing PlayHQ account (if, for example, you have one from your involvement with other sports). If not, you can create an account during registration.

For Blasters and Juniors registrations, the parent/guardian’s PlayHQ account is used. Children are set up under the parent/guardian’s account.

The first time a PlayHQ account is used during cricket registration, you will be prompted to link your Cricket Australia ‘Cricket ID’ to the PlayHQ account.

  • This is not the ‘MyCricket ID’ which you have used for registration in previous years.
  • You may already have a Cricket ID – for example, from being part of the Australian Cricket Family.
  • If you don’t have a Cricket ID, you will be prompted to establish one.
  • If you are uncertain whether you have a Cricket ID, you can use the ‘forgot password’ links to check.
