Cricket NSW’s Woolworths Cricket Blast program

Woolworths Cricket Blast skills is for kids learning the basic cricket skills. Participants are taught the foundations of cricket through fun, game-based activities. The games are designed for small groups to ensure every child gets a go, allowing them to test and learn new skills. When they have mastered the basics, they will be ready to graduate to Blasters where they can play modified games of cricket.

Features:

  • For boys and girls learning the basic skills of cricket (approx. age 5 & 6)
  • All kids get their own Blasters Pack from CA and wear the colours of their favourite Big Bash heroes
  • Opportunities for parent Involvement
  • Teaches basic cricket skills
  • 60-minute sessions
  • 8 weeks in duration (October – December)
  • All equipment provided
  • Fun and safe environment
  • Caters for children with a disability

Woolworths Cricket Blast is a fun, social, safe, cricket program for boys and girls who have learnt some of the fundamentals of cricket. It is much shorter than traditional cricket, with a maximum of 90 minutes playing time. All the equipment is supplied, and games take place at Lionel Watts on a Friday 5.30-7.00.

  • Perfect for boys & girls who have basic cricket skills
  • Ages 7 & 8 but will vary based on ability and experience
  • Opportunities for Parent Involvement
  • A modified game of cricket lasting up to 90 minutes
  • All equipment provided. The participants use plastic bats and a soft ball.
  • Everyone gets a chance to bat, bowl and field
  • Caters for children with a disability
